Method 1: bring the thread from the spool in front of the machine, then pass it through the first guide (it will be a metal or plastic piece sticking up near where the needle is), then thread it through the eye of the needle from front to back.
Method 2: some machines have a second guide for threading that’s located just below where the spool goes. In this case, you would first thread the needle from back to front, then bring the thread down and around this second guide before passing it through to the front again and continuing to your project.
Once you have threaded the needle, you can lower the presser foot and continue sewing!
